SGVP International enters semifinals

NEW DELHI: A goal each by S. D’Costa and V. Rocha helped Rosary High School, Goa, to a 2-1 victory over SGVP International School, Ahmedabad, in the quarterfinals of the under-17 section in the Subroto Cup junior football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Tuesday.

Paresh Sabdar had put the Ahmedabad team ahead in the 32nd minute, but the Goa team struck the two goals in the next 10 minutes to clinch the issue.

In the under-14 section, Air Force Bal Bharati School beat JK Public School, Jammu and Kashmir, 3-0, thanks to the goals by Jatin Singh (2) and Shivam Sharma.

Government Mizo Higher Secondary School, Aizawl, recorded a 6-0 triumph over Army Boys School, 58 GTC, Shillong. C. Zonumawia (3), Nunpuia (2) and Lalnantingwua scored the goals.

In another high-scoring match, Marian Hills Higher Secondary School, Meghalaya, beat Don Bosco School, Mumbai, 10-0. Readingwell (4), Kitbok Pale (2), S. Lamukang (2), Scoto P. Souza and Dalton D Souza accounted for the goals.
