Beneficiaries’ meet

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Canara Bank on Tuesday organised a mega-meet of beneficiaries of the Krishi Mitra Card scheme.

The meet was inaugurated by bank executive director D.L. Rawal. As many as 150 Krishi Mitra Cards were distributed to landless agriculturists/tenant farmers hailing from Kalady. A sum of Rs.35 lakh was give away under the scheme to meet the farmers’ expenses for cultivation of crops and repair and maintenance of farm equipment. All beneficiaries of the cards are women who are into vegetable cultivation, a press note issued here said.
