KOCHI: They share their experience after downing many drinks, and their will to break free from its impact. Alcoholics Anonymous is solidarity that an alcoholic feels for another and together finding a way out of the habit. The group members in the district came together on Tuesday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its activity in the country. “The response towards the fellowship from within the city is poor,” said Prince, who refused to be identified beyond his first name. “We believe in anonymity.” Alcoholics Anonymous, says its website, is an international fellowship of men and women who once had a drinking problem. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Shortage of volunteers is making it hard for the group to follow-up cases referred to them by doctors involved in de-addiction works. The anniversary celebrations were inaugurated by Kurian Joseph, Kerala High Court judge, at the Chavara Cultural Centre.
