Udupi
Udupi: The Mangalore University will award a gold medal to the student who scores the highest marks in M.A. History every year, with effect from this year. The son of the late historian Padur Gururaja Bhat, Padur Parusharama Bhat, handed over a cheque of Rs. 50,000 to the Vice-Chancellor, as a deposit for the gold medals to be given each year. In a press release issued here on Wednesday, Mr. Bhat said that the medal would be called ‘Dr. Padur Gururaja Bhat Memorial Gold Medal’.
