BANGALORE: Southern Blues got back to winning ways, beating Department of Youth Service & Sports (DYSS) 1-0 in the Super division football league encounter at the football stadium here on Wednesday. Uday Kumar struck the the all important goal for the Blues in the 85th minute.
Southern Blues thus has seven points from five outings having won two and drawn one from five matches while DYSS has lost all its six matches.
Earlier, Nationals scored its third win a facile 4-2 victory over Govt. Press in an A Division encounter.
Om Prakash put Nationals ahead in the fourth minute and Shyam Kumar increased the tally before the breather. On resumption Robin D’Souza and Dhruv Kumar added to the Nationals’ tally before Vijay Babu and Sudhakar struck a goal apiece to narrow the deficit for Govt. Press.
Nationals has 10 points from four matches (three wins and a draw) while Govt. Press is on five points (three wins and one draw) from five matches.
