Hassan Zilla Panchayat president, deputy take charge

In office: C.N. Balakrishna who was elected president of Hassan Zilla Panchayat assuming office in Hassan on Wednesday.

HASSAN: C.N. Balakrishna and Siddeshwar assumed charge as president and vice-president respectively of the zilla panchayat on Wednesday.

Zilla panchayat members are elected for a period of five years and the term of the president and vice-president is for 20 months. There will be three rounds. Mr. Balakrishna and Mr. Siddeshwar said their priorities included providing safe water to villages, particularly in fluoride affected villages, better communication,health facilities and education for all.
