Bail granted

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Wednesday granted bail to a bank official from Bangalore who is accused of driving a subordinate to commit suicide. The petitioner, N.S. Bharat working in ING Vysya, claimed that the Banashankari police had booked a case against him on August 24, 2007 alleging that some of the SMS messages he sent to her had driven Shylaja to commit suicide. The public prosecutor contended that Bharat was directly responsible for the death. Justice H. Billappa granted bail and directed Bharat to approach the jurisdictional court for regular bail.
