Pat for Catholic educational institutions

SHARING THEIR JOY: School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu interacting with schoolchildren at the silver jubilee celebrations of St. Joseph Centre in North Chennai on Wednesday.

CHENNAI: School Education Minister Thangam Thennarasu lauded the contribution made by educational institutions of the Catholic churches for the uplift of weaker sections. At the silver jubilee celebrations of St. Joseph’s Centre, which runs four educational institutions, at Maha Kavi Bharathi Nagar, he lauded the service of the centre to the community.

Mr. Thennarasu, who released a souvenir, promised the management of St. Joseph’s Centre that the State Government would look into the demands made by Rev.Fr. M. Antoniswamy, director and chairman, St. Joseph’s Centre.

Fisheries Minister K.P.P. Samy said more such educational institutions should be encouraged to serve the poor.
