‘Gandhi Adigal’ award

CHENNAI: Four police officers will receive the ‘Gandhi Adigal Police Medal’ “for their outstanding work in curtailing illicit liquor for the year 2007.”

Those selected are, S. Selsam Monickarao, Additional Superintendent, Prohibition Enforcement Wing, Tirunelveli district; K. Narayanamurthy, Deputy Superintendent, Vellore district; S. Karthikeyan, Inspector, Vellore district and G. Soundararajan, Sub-Inspector, Kancheepuram district.

Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will present the medals on Republic Day next year.

They will also receive a cash prize Rs.20,000 each.
