Three girls drowned

KADAPA: Three SSC girl students of Chukkayapalle, a village surrounded by Somasila backwaters, in Nandalur mandal in Andhra Pradesh, were drowned when the country boat which was ferrying them to school at Pothapi capsized on Wednesday morning.

A dozen girls had set off to the school in the boat. A man rescued eight girls with the help of a lorry tube, but three students were drowned.
