Jayaram Chithrapatta of Eramangalam near Balussery has now come up with paintings using `circles’.

His painting ‘Inakakkakal’ (Love Birds) also explores the ‘circles ’. Two mating crows painted in circles arrests the attention. One of the paintings depicting his love series shows Krishna, Radha and cows, all in circles as ex periments with ‘circles’. “Circle represents perfection. Man always strives for perfection. Even the Upanishads and Indian classics mention about perfection,” he says.

Jayaram says he focussed on circles after he was asked by one of the persons who saw his exhibition that why was he painting in a style that was similar to the paintings of the time. “Then I thought of doing something different. Then began my experiments in circle,” he says.

Jayaram is gearing up to put up his third exhibition of paintings in Bangalore from October 10 to 14. Jayaram who studied painting from A.B.Ummer of Kozhikode shifted his base to Bangalore since there are great opportunities for painting there. Jayaram’s medium is oil and acrylic.

He says that the theme of ‘love’ has engulfed him and prompted him to paint more and more.

He also depicts eyes which he says are a symbol of love, in another untitled painting. In another painting, sunflower even though wilted during the evening attracts butterflies. This painting is based on the theme of love, says Jayaram.
