First-rate intelligence work and quick thinking helped the police arrest the five men suspected to be responsible for the gangland murder of ‘Muttamoodu’ Shaji and his associate, ‘Vattappara’ Vinu, alias Vinod, at Karamana in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday night. The police were able to crack the case within 12 hours of the crime. City Police Commissioner Ravada Chandrasekhar received specific information about the vehicle used by the assailants to escape to Guruvayur. The information proved crucial in capturing the gang near Thripunithura. The Commissioner’s team includes Assistant Commissioner (Fort) K.C. Sasikumar, Circle Inspector (Thampanoor) Zakir and Circle Inspector (Medical College) V. Suresh Kumar. G. Anand
