DHARWAD: Two persons were killed on the spot when a goods carrier collided with a truck at Yarikoppa village, near Dharwad, on Thursday. The victims have been identified as the driver of the goods carrier Srinath Honnappa Mudangi (24) of Kumta and the cleaner Rafiq Mulla (30) of Tadari village. According to the police, the accident occurred on the early hours on Thursday on the bypass road of national highway No. 4 at Yarikoppa. The goods carrier was carrying a consignment of fish from Kumta to Belgaum. The Dharwad Rural Police have registered a case. The impact of the collision was such that it took more than two hours for the police to remove the bodies from the mangled remains of the vehicle. The driver and cleaner of the truck have suffered minor injuries.
