Pedestrians injured in accident

KASARAGOD: Two pedestrians were seriously injured when a private bus that was trying to overtake a lorry hit them at Thalappady here on Thursday morning. The injured have been identified as Navya and Chaitra, Class X students of Kolya high school. Angry local people damaged the bus after the accident and blocked buses between Thalappady and Mangalore. Bus services on the route were stopped. Several persons have been killed by speeding buses on the route in the past two weeks. These have led to attacks on buses by the public. — Staff Reporter
