Heroin seized at Vellore bus stand

CHENNAI: Heroin weighing 1.992 kg was seized by officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau near the Old Bus Stand at Vellore on Wednesday.

The bureau’s Zonal Director, S. Davidson Devasirvatham, said Dhananjayan (31) was intercepted and the narcotic drug concealed in two packets was seized. The drug was meant for Sri Lanka.

Dhananjayan was arrested and was remanded to judicial custody.

Further investigation was on. — Special Correspondent
