BANGALORE: Malaysia Airlines will increase flight frequency from its southern India gateways of Chennai and Bangalore. It will come into effect in its winter schedule. From the Chennai gateway, the frequency will be enhanced to nine weekly flights from the present seven. From Bangalore, it will be increased to four weekly flights from the current three, according to a release. The additional Chennai flights will be operational from October 28, at 12.50 p.m. on Thursdays and Sundays. The additional Bangalore flight will start from November 3, at 10 p.m. on Saturdays. Seat capacityWith the flight enhancements, the airline’s overall seat capacity from Chennai and Bangalore gateways will be increased to 3,607 from the present 2,920. The airline will operate Airbus 330-300 and Airbus 330-200 on these routes. With the addition of three new flights, Malaysia Airlines will now operate 30 weekly flights from the five gateways in India. It operates daily flights from New Delhi and Mumbai, three weekly flights from Hyderabad, nine weekly flights from Chennai and four weekly flights from Bangalore gateways.
