Net assets growth from Rs. 355 crore in 2005-06 to Rs. 453 crore in 2006-2007 First PSU to accumulate carbon credit points to earn Rs. 3.50 crore in international market JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML) has set a new record by achieving the highest turnover so far of Rs. 570 crore during 2006-07 and earning profit before tax amounting to Rs.156 crore against the previous year’s figure of Rs. 150 crore. RSMML Chairman and State Chief Secretary D.C. Samant listed the public sector company’s achievements at its annual general meeting here while pointing out that the net assets had registered a phenomenal growth from Rs. 282 crore in 2004-05 to Rs. 355 crore in 2005-06. The figure in the financial year 2006-07 stood at Rs. 453 crore. Mr. Samant said RSMML is the country’s first public sector undertaking (PSU) that had accumulated carbon credit points to earn Rs. 3.50 crore in the international market. The company produced 45,000 litres of high quality jatropha bio-diesel from its pilot plant for use in heavy machines. Mr. Samant said RSMML had recently applied for patent on a new fertiliser in association with Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur. Besides acquiring the technique for making productive use of 75 lakh tonnes of rock phosphate, RSMML has met 80 per cent of its demand by supplying it all over the country. Mr. Samant said the State Government had received revenue worth Rs. 112.36 crore from the company earned by rock handling which touched 1.95-crore tonnes in 2006-07. RSMML has supplied 18.80 lakh tonnes of limestone to major steel plants in India. Besides, RSMML has made the highest investment among the public sector undertakings in the wind energy sector to achieve the capacity of 52 MW power production. The capacity was 14.8 MW in 2003-04. The State Government is now getting 7 crore units of electricity annually from five wind power projects. ignored In the social welfare area, RSMML contributed about Rs. 14 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund during the last three years, facilitating execution of several important health care projects in eight districts.
