dated October 5, 1957: Nehru in Tokyo

Prime Minister Nehru arrived in Tokyo on October 4 on a ten-day visit to Japan. The Air India aircraft touched down at Tokyo international airport with Japan’s Prime Minister Kishi waiting to welcome him. Mr. Nehru is accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Indira Gandhi. Two hundred VIPs, a record in the history of Tokyo airport, and a crowd of more than 5,000 cheering Japanese were present to welcome Mr. Nehru.
