Sindhia wants Assembly dissolved

Bangalore: The former Minister, P.G.R. Sindhia, on Thursday demanded Janata Dal (S) president H.D. Deve Gowda to advise Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to recommend dissolution of the Legislative Assembly and seek a fresh mandate, which was the only solution to the political uncertainty in the State.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Sindhia came down on the Congress for maintaining silence when it was expected to take the lead in guiding the people. The administration had collapsed because of the Janata Dal (S) failure to adhere to the promised transfer of power to the Bharatiya Janata Party, he added.

Mr. Sindhia advised Deputy Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa to withdraw support to the Janata Dal (S) and go to the people with courage.

The recent developments, he said, had made the people lose faith in politicians, and the public opinion was critical of the stand taken by the Janata Dal (S) leaders.

Criticising the Janata Dal (S) for entrusting development of the Bidadi township to the New Delhi-based DLF Ltd., Mr. Sindhia said, “he will submit a list of scandals committed during the tenure of the coalition Government, headed by Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy,” to Governor Rameshwar Thakur after October 15.

Even now it was not late for the Janata Dal (S) to transfer power to the BJP.

The Political Affairs Committee, which did not have any importance when Mr. Kumaraswamy came to power, had been suddenly revived and everyone knew what decision it would take on Friday, he added.

Meanwhile, the former Minister said the complaint against him under the anti-defection law would come up before Speaker Krishna on October 6.
