HASSAN: The Hassan district unit of Chutuku Sahitya Parishat here on Thursday mourned the death of its central committee president A.S. Guruswamy who was a former MLA. Mr. Guruswamy died in Mysore on Wednesday. In a statement, the president of the parishat Kenchattahalli Shivarame Gowda described Mr. Guruswamy as a straightforward person. He became the president of central committee of Chutuku Sahitya Parishat and worked for its development. Mr. Gowda said Mr. Guruswamy visited Hassan in August to install the new office-bearers of the district unit. His death was a great loss, he added.
