NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has decided to form a committee that would prepare a draft to launch a media campaign to curb the growing menace of road rage on the Capital’s roads. The committee would be headed by the State Home Secretary. At a high-level meeting convened by Chief Secretary R. Narayanswami here on Thursday, it was decided that a suitable campaign through television, radio and print medium be undertaken to tackle the situation. The meeting, which was also attended by Joint Commissioner (Traffic) of Police Qamar Ahmed, lasted about 20 minutes. Originally the meeting was scheduled to be chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit but it was later decided that the Chief Secretary chair it. Meanwhile, the Delhi Government’s Transport Department also issued show-cause notices to the owner of the Blueline bus whose staff had thrown out a girl from the bus in Noida, and the owner of the mini-bus whose driver had assaulted a couple and their son earlier this week. They have been asked to explain why the permits of their vehicles should not be cancelled.
