Khurana to move court against Karunanidhi

NEW DELHI: The former Delhi Chief Minister and expelled BJP leader Madan Lal Khurana has announced that he will go to court against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Friday for his reported statements on Lord Ram.

At a press conference here on Thursday, Mr. Khurana said Mr. Karunanidhi had violated Article 25 of the Constitution. “The Constitution does not permit vilifying the beliefs of other people. The inappropriate language he used for Lord Ram questioning his existence to gain political mileage has hurt the feelings of millions of followers. Two innocent persons lost their lives in Karnataka for which Mr. Karunanidhi is responsible,” he said.

Dismissal

Demanding dismissal of the DMK Government in Tamil Nadu and also the Union Minister of that party in the UPA Government for their irresponsible utterances, Mr. Khurana said: “The law clearly states that no one has the right to hurt the religious feelings of others. More so if he is the Chief Minister of a State,” said

Mr. Khurana, adding that he will file a petition against Mr. Karunanidhi as a citizen and not as a politician.
