Court summons Karunanidhi

KURNOOL: The Judicial First Class Magistrate at Adoni in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh issued summons on Thursday to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi directing him to appear before the court on November 1.

Valmiki Mallikarjuna, an advocate, had petitioned the court alleging that Mr. Karunanidhi had hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus through his remarks on Lord Rama.

Taking cognisance of his contention under Sections 298, 153 and 505 of the IPC, the court issued the summons.
