CME to fOZHIKODE: The Continuing Medical Education programme (CME) being conducted by the Department of General Surgery, Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, on October 7 will focus on common health complaints handled by doctors in all specialties. The CME will deal on treatment of colic pains, thyroid, and modern techniques of treating burns, among others. The programme being held at the IMA hall as part of the golden jubilee of the medical college will be inaugurated by Dr. P.V. Ramachandran, Principal of the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode. The inaugural session will be addressed among others by Dr. V.R. Rajendran, Superintendent, KMC Hospital, Dr. K. Sasidharan, Superintendent, Institute of Maternal and Child Health, Dr. A.K. Abdul Khader, president, Kozhikode Chapter, Indian Medical Association, P.K. Sasidharan, president of the Kozhikode Medical College Alumni Association, and V.P. Sasidharan, Deputy Superintendent, Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode. A lecture on ‘lump in breast-surgical approach’ will be handled by Prof. Joji I. Maliekal, ‘right Iliac fossa pain - a common problem’ by Dr. P.G. Mohandas and ‘Thyroid nodule’ by P. Rajan.
