Leadership training programme conducted

To develop personality of tsunami-hit children

CHENGAM: Welfare Association for the Rural Mass, a non-government organisation (NGO), at Chengam in Tiruvannamalai district, organised a leadership training and motivation programme for tsunami-affected children here on Tuesday.

K. Rajavelu, honorary director, said that as in the previous years, the NGO bestowed greater importance on leadership training and motivation programme for the children as it helped them develop a sense of confidence and leadership qualities.

The tsunami- affected children, who went through lot of mental trauma, would benefit in the way of overall personality development.

Mr. Rajavelu said such programmes would help the children in managing their family in the future and also face society without fear.

Leadership attitude, development of leadership qualities, personality development, stress management, analysis of social cultural, economical and political environment of the children, oppression and exploitation faced by the children, role and responsibility of leaders and various communication skills were the topics covered.

The inmates also participated in sports events. M.P. Giri, district chairman, distributed prizes to the winners.
