The Chief Minister had also issued orders last year for starting four veterinary hospitals in the State. He had issued orders to start 40 veterinary dispensaries this year. A veterinary doctor-in-charge has been appointed for the dispensary in Nallur . A regular doctor would be appointed within a month, Ms. Jeevan said.
Food Minister E.V. Velu, who presided over the inauguration, said he has requested the Chief Minister to bifurcate Vellore and Tiruvannamalai Districts Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union functioning in Vellore and establish a separate cooperative milk producers’ union for Tiruvannamalai district. This was owing to the fact that milk production was higher in Tiruvannamalai district than in Vellore.
