NEW DELHI: James struck in the final minute as NCC Aizwal, Mizoram, rallied from a one-goal deficit to beat Rosary High School, Goa, 3-2 and made it to the final of the Subroto Cup under-17 football tournament at the Ambedkar Stadium here on Friday. NCC Aizwal will meet Sagarbhanga HS, Durgapur, in the final on October 16. The Goan school took an early third-minute lead through an opportunistic goal from Vellington Rocha. NCC drew parity through Lalhlimpuia 10 minutes later as the teams broke for halftime 1-1. Lalbiaksanga put NCC ahead in the 50th minute, but the Goan boys levelled scores once again through Joles Fernandes (51st minute). With the match seeming going into the extra-time, James fired the winner in the 60th minute. In the sub-junior (under-14) tournament, St. Stephen’s School, Chandigarh routed Sri Vyas Bal Mandir, Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh, 17-0 in a Group III match.
