Woman held on impersonation charge

Muzaffarnagar: A woman, impersonating as a CBI official, and her driver were arrested on Friday when they allegedly tried to extort money from a municipal official, police said.

Mamta, widow of a BSF jawan and a Delhi resident, was arrested when she was allegedly trying to swindle a man of Rs. 2 lakh, posing as deputy Superintendent of Police of the CBI, Senior Superintendent of Police Sushil Kumar Singh said.

A case agianst Mamta and her driver has been registered under section 420 of IPC, they said.
