Volleyball tournament from October 15

Chitradurga: Sri Murugharajendra Math will organise a three-day State-level volleyball tournament from October 15, as part of its annual Jamura Cup Contest.

Speaking to presspersons here on Friday, Somashekhar, secretary, district volleyball association, said the math had been conducting the tournament for the past two years.

The organising committee had already received applications from 25 teams in the men’s category and 14 in the women’s category.

Winners in the men’s category would get Rs. 15,000 while Rs. 10,000 would be given to the winners in the women’s category.

National and international players are expected to participate in the tournament to be held at the Police Parade Grounds here, he said.

Madara Chennaya Swami of the math was present.
