New Delhi: A court here on Friday extended the judicial custody of Ashok Malhotra, alleged mastermind behind the multi-crore Delhi land scam case, by 14 days. Allowing the CBI’s plea, Special Judge S. K. Kaushik sent Mr. Malhotra to judicial custody till October 18.

He was produced in the court after the expiry of nine days’ judicial custody in the case. Seeking a further 14 days’ judicial custody for Mr. Malhotra, the CBI told the court that the case was still very much under their investigation. Meanwhile, the interim bail application of Mr. Malhotra would come up for hearing on October 12.

The court also extended the judicial custody of other co-accused -- DDA Deputy Director Sumer Chand Garg, businessman Ashok Jain and MCD Deputy Director S. N. S. Sidhu -- by 14 days till October 18.
