Left parties to intensify land stir

CPI, CPI(M) hold meeting in Maqdoom Bhavan

Left parties to organise ‘maha dharnas’ on Oct. 25

HYDERABAD: The State units of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Communist Party of India (CPI) are to intensify their joint land struggle.

This was decided by CPI(M) secretary B. V. Raghavulu and CPI secretary K. Narayana at a meeting in Maqdoom Bhavan on Friday.

‘Maha dharnas’

Talking to reporters later, the two leaders said the parties would organise “maha dharnas” as part of the land struggle in front of all Collectorates on October 25 and submit representations.

The land problem was not getting solved though Government Orders were issued and committees constituted, they observed.

The issue could have been settled much earlier had the Government acted sincerely.

Mid-term polls

They also discussed the ‘mid-term’ elections, third alternative in the State and the Government’s failure to rein in prices.

The two parties would also hold dharnas in the mandal headquarters on October 8 to protest against the price rise, they stated.
