A new leaf: A still from ‘Inside - Undercover In North Korea’ from the new series on National Geographic NEW DELHI: Taking television viewers inside the world’s most secret places and events is National Geographic Channel’s brand new ‘Inside’ series premiering this coming Monday. The two-week-long series will offer an insight into places ranging from the Federal Bureau of Investigation to Iraq’s ‘Kill Zone’ to the survival strategy of the Forbidden City in China. ‘Inside - Shock and Awe’ to be aired on October 8 makes use of computer-generated imagery to investigate the planning and execution of operation ‘Shock and Awe’ that was targeted at Baghdad. The episode will offer a clearer view of the technology that allows firepower to be accurately targeted, and investigate how exotic missiles work. ‘Inside - Iraq’s Kill Zone’ on October 9 will show Phil Armstrong and his team from British company, Hart Security, travelling to the militia hotbed of Taramiyah. It will showcase Iraq’s battle-scarred highways with Welshman Lee McClellan dodging danger to deliver medical supplies to the U.S. army. ‘Inside - Undercover In North Korea’ on October 10 will venture inside North Korea. It will show reporter Lisa Ling entering the country as part of a medical team. One of the very few Americans in the country, she and the team are followed by six Government minders everywhere. ‘Inside - The FBI’ on October 11 will film FBI Special Agents assigned to the Crow and Northern Cheyenne Nations through the ‘Indian Country’ office. A super carrier where 6,000 men and women run one of the most complex machines ever built will be the focus of attention in ‘Inside - Super Carrier’ that will be aired on October 12. This episode intends to give a feel of the carrier’s 21st Century technology, its weapons, its fighter planes and its engineering. Taking a look at one of the world’s legendary car companies struggling to survive and re-invent itself is the episode ‘Inside – Jaguar’ that will go on aired on October 15. The cameras go inside the company’s Advance Design Studio. As the design team battles deadlines and endless decisions, a new luxury car will be shown moving towards the showroom. ‘Inside - Freedom, World’s Greatest Cruise Ship’ highlighting the maiden voyage of Freedom of the Seas in June 2006. It will be aired on October 16. The ship is an awesome engineering marvel using the most sophisticated technology in the world. ‘Inside - Space Launch’ airing on October 17 will take viewers to the remote and desolate steppes of southern Kazakhstan. It will feature the Russian-run Baikonur Cosmodrome that has been described as the oldest and largest space facility in the world. ‘Inside - The Forbidden City: Secrets’ on October 18 will show why the Forbidden City was more than a residential palace. Having an access to the heart of the palace, the camera team will provide stunning images of its magnificent buildings and reveal the secrets of those who lived there. The last episode, ‘Inside - The Forbidden City: Survival’, slated for October 19 will make viewers experience the remarkable.
