“UDF to blame for loss of land”

PALAKKAD: Forest Minister Benoy Viswom has said the State government has taken steps to amend the Ecologically Fragile Land Act to take back lost forest land.

Inaugurating a peacock sanctuary at Chulannur vested forest, near here, he said acres of forest land went to encroachers with political backing, as the previous UDF government amended the Ecologically Fragile Land Ordinance, 2000.
