CBSE table tennis

CHENNAI: The CBSE Cluster V State-level table tennis tournament will be held at the Hall of Table Tennis, Nehru Stadium, on October 8 and 9.

The tournament will be held in three categories — under-14, 16 and 19 boys and girls.

The winner will qualify for the National-level tournament to be held in Hyderabad in the first week of November.

More than 30 schools from Chennai, Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Krishnagiri and Neyveli will take part in the tournament.

Chess tournament

Bloom Chess Academy will conduct its third children’s tournament on October 13 and 14 at Kavi Bharathi Vidyalaya, Thiruvottriyur. Competitions will be held in under-8, 10, 12, 14 and 18 for both boys and girls.

Entries close on October 11 with M.A. Velayudham, Secretary, Bloom CA, 19, Nellikaran Street, Thiruvottriyur, Chennai-19. Ph: 93808 32268 / 044-32932268.
