NEW DELHI: A 12-year-old girl was found murdered under mysterious circumstances at Railway Colony in Kotwali here on Friday.
The murder came to light around 4 p.m. when local residents noticed smoke billowing out of the house in which Anamika lived with her father Raja Ram. On entering the room, they found her body lying on the floor with her clothes on fire. They put out the fire and called the police.
The police said there were stab injuries on Anamika’s body. She was in her school uniform, suggesting that she was attacked soon after she returned from school. Enquiries by the police revealed that Jyoti (17), who lived in another room of the house with her father Om Prakash, went missing after the incident came to light.
