Another tremor in two districts

Thiruvananthapuram: A low-intensity quake measuring two on the Richter scale was recorded in some parts of Palakkad and Thrissur districts on Saturday.

No damage to property or injury to people was reported in the tremor experienced in Desamangalam, Varavoor and Cheruthuruthy areas of Thrissur district and Kuttanad in Palakad district, the police said. The epicentre of the tremor was located at Desamangalam, Centre for Earth Science Studies officials said. The tremor occurred in the morning hours, they added.

These areas had experienced a mild tremor measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale on October 3. The Desamangalam area has experienced frequent tremors of mild intensity in the last few years. — PTI
