Five killed as auto-rickshaw falls into tank

NALGONDA: Five persons, including a pregnant woman , met with a watery grave when the crowded auto-rickshaw in which they were travelling fell into a roadside tank at Sarvaram of Huzurnagar mandal in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday.

Twenty swimmers engaged by police could trace the body of only a 42-year-old woman, two kilometres away from the accident spot, till the last reports came in. “We have almost stopped the search operation due to the bad weather condition. We alerted the management of a power generation unit at Yatavakilla downstream,” Sub Inspector A. Balagangi Reddy told The Hindu over phone.
