PDP seeks to quit coalition

Special Correspondent

SRINAGAR: The two-year-long crisis in the Jammu and Kashmir coalition government, headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad, seems to have entered a crucial phase with its main ally, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), seeking to withdraw from the government in view of souring relations with Mr. Azad.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi is weighing the options to keep the flock together.

Highly placed sources told The Hindu that, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti had made it clear to the Congress high command that her party was no more interested in continuing with the coalition.
