Bankers urged to extend loans to SHGs

Correspondent

MAHABUBNAGAR: District Collector V. Usharani has called upon the bankers to finance extensively to all the bank linkage schemes and give more emphasis to the Self Help Groups (SHG) in the district. She was addressing an SBH workshop organised by DRDA here on Saturday.

She said bankers play a pivotal role in alleviating poverty from the society by extending financial support to all Government sponsored schemes, like Rajiv Yuva Shakti, PMRY and others.

She said about 55,000 pucca houses were constructed last year in the district under Indiramma housing scheme. She requested the SBH to come forward to give bridge loans to all the SHG groups and personal loans to all individuals who are constructing Indiramma houses.
