Eight tribals die of diarrhoea

VIZIANAGARAM: Contamination of water and poor sanitation in tribal villages have claimed eight lives between September 29 and October 3.

At Gorati, a tribal hamlet in G.L. Puram mandal, Mandangi Manjiramma (70), Thoyaka Kothamma (70), Biddika Thellimmi (75), Biddika Veeranna (40), Killaka Sailaja (10), Biddika Silki (35), Thoyaka Jumbara (45) and Mandangi Bhurasanna (35) have died during the said period. Three diarrhoeal deaths in a row were reported a couple of days ago from Kallikota and Pallapusiripi . Lack of awareness about sanitation in addition to inadequate medical staff in the Parvathipuram division is stated to be reason for high incidence of deaths.
