VIZIANAGARAM: The municipality here has decided to serve revised notices to non-residential tax payers on the basis of two revised GOs issued by the government last week.
According to the revised GOs, the government had instructed municipalities to hike 100 per cent tax for over 25 years old non-residential constructions and 150 per cent for those below 25 years old structures.
Earlier, the government in the draft proposal proposed a uniform hike of 140 per cent. Accordingly the municipality issued notices to all shops and trade establishments. There are 8,452 non-residential establishments in the town.
Meanwhile, the Vizianagaram Chamber of Commerce president V.V.
