Held for kidnapping

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: A resident of Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh allegedly involved in over two dozen kidnapping cases has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping of a jeweller and a financier. The two have been rescued. Police said Ajay Kumar (30) and Ravinder Verma (30) had gone missing from Old Kondli in early September. Ransom calls received by the victims’ family members showed that the kidnappers were hiding in Agra and Firozabad.

A trap was laid in the forest area of Firozabad on Friday and Vinod Yadav was arrested. At his instance, both victims were rescued from the forest.
