NEW DELHI: The Executive Committee of Delhi Kalyan Samiti has sanctioned Rs. 2 crore as grant-in-aid for a number of societies, organisations and non-government organisations. The panel meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and attended by Finance Minister A.K. Walia, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely and Chief Secretary Ramesh Narayanswami among others. The organisations for which money has been sanctioned include New Delhi Tuberculosis Centre for which Rs. 25 lakhs has been set aside for making a model state TB Training and Demonstration Centre. Anglo-Sanskrit V.J. Secondary School has also been sanctioned Rs.25 lakh keeping in view its substantial contribution and heritage status. Other major recipients of the grant include the All India Women’s Conference to which Rs.16.85 lakh would be released for organising an “International Seminar on Unity in Diversity -- Women set the Agenda 2015” to be held at Raj Ghat here from October 29 to November 3. The Delhi Malayalee Association has been sanctioned Rs.25 lakh for construction of a cultural centre building. The Indian National Trust for Art and Culture Heritage (INTACH) has been sanctioned Rs.20 lakh for organising an International Conference, while Rs.10 lakh has been sanctioned to the Inter Faith Harmony Foundation of India for meeting expenses incurred on the South Asian Inter Faith Harmony Conclave-2007. Mahavir International has been sanctioned Rs.24 lakh for enhancement of facilities to strengthen its mobile unit for eye camps under the new concept of doctors at doorstep for treatment of poor patients. The Sai Charitable Society has been sanctioned Rs.7.08 lakh, Janata Adarsh Andh Vidyalaya Rs.7.5 lakh, Mediworld Educational Society Rs.9 lakh, Ravi Shankar Institute for Music and Performing Art Rs.7 lakh and Pradeep Social Welfare Group of India Rs.3.5 lakh.
