Crucial meet: Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy along with Janata Dal (S) MLAs arriving for the legislature party meeting in Bangalore on Sunday. Bangalore: It was a Karnataka BJP leader who “hatched a conspiracy” against B.S. Yediyurappa, according to Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy. Speaking to The Hindu after the Janata Dal (Secular) Legislature Party meeting here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said that BJP leaders should take stock of the developments within their party since their own leader shifted the discussions between the two parties out of Bangalore. The Chief Minister said that the BJP was a “divided house with one section against Mr. Yediyurappa. It was this group which prevented a discussion with me although I repeatedly sent word that I was open for it. ClarificationsAll that I wanted were a few clarifications before handing over charge to Mr. Yediyurappa. Even while in New Delhi I conveyed the same message through Transport Minister N. Cheluvaraya Swamy. But it was not forthcoming. What can I do?” he asked. Sources in the Janata Dal (S) said that the party was taking steps to prevent any kind of horse trading as there was a fear in the party that a group of legislators could be lured by some “outside elements who were out to wipe out the Janata Dal (S).” At the JDLP meeting, Mahima Patel was the only one who said that the party leadership had gone against the word given to the coalition partner. “I now enjoy the freedom to choose what I want to do,” he told this correspondent. The State president of Janata Dal (S) Merajuddin Patel and the party senior leader and Home Minister, M.P. Prakash, along with the Chief Minister who were at the JDLP meeting attempted to reason with Mr. Mahima Patel. With reference to meeting Governor Rameshwar Thakur, the Chief Minister said he was awaiting an invitation from the Governor. “I will meet him shortly and once again convey that I am ready for a floor test,” he said.
