RAMANATHAPURAM: Twelve employees of the TASMAC have been placed under suspension for malpractices, according to the Collector, R. Kirlosh Kumar.
In a statement, he said some fraudulent activities including mismanagement of funds were detected when the officials conducted surprise raids on several TASMAC shops during the last three months.
They had mishandled the amount to the tune of Rs.1.63 lakh.
However, officials were managed to collect Rs.68000 from them. Four supervisors were among those suspended for indulging in malpractices.
He said he had received some complaints about the over pricing of liquor varieties than the price stipulated by the Government. Strict action would be taken against the salesmen, if they violated rules.
The Collector said a case had been lodged in the police against a salesman of a TASMAC shop at C.K. Mangalam near Thiruvadanai following misuse of sales amount. It was detected during a surprise raid that he misused the sales amount to the tune of Rs.30, 000.
