Bharti AXA insurance comes to Kozhikode

Staff Reporter

Has major expansion plans in State

Kozhikode: Bharti AXA Life Insurance Company Limited, the private life insurance joint venture of Bharti Enterprises and AXA Group, launched its operations here on Friday.

The company opened its first branch in Kochi and it has plans to expand to Kottayam, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kannur and Pathanamthitta by end of this fiscal.

Tim Thomas, Chief Operating Officer, Bharti AXA Life said, “We are delighted to launch our operations in Kozhikode, a high-potential city not just for our State business but also for the entire Southern region. The State market is characterised by a powerful combination of high literacy rate and good disposable incomes. It provides us a good opportunity to offer our quality financial protection and wealth management services. We will continue to expand our footprint in the State to fully tap the growth potential in this strategic market. We will make a difference in this market for our customers through well-performing products, highly qualified advisors and a world-class customer service platform, ” he said.

In addition to the branch, the company has extended presence in Airtel Relationship Centres (ARCs), where Bharti Airtel customers visit these ARCs and get an access to a range of life insurance services and advice on financial protection.

“Our initiative at the ARCs includes dedicated financial advisors supported with relevant branding and product literature. We will establish our presence in ARCs across the State covering Kottayam, Kozhikode, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram. We have already five ARCs in Kochi,” he said. Around 250 ARCs will be established in the country by December 2007. The ARC initiative is a part of the distribution channel, Telcassurance, which reaches out to the 50 million national telecom customer base of Bharti Airtel.

Bharti AXA Life is planning to expand its network to 77 branches by the end of 2007.
