Hyderabad: Dandia fever is catching up in the city even as the ‘Navratri’ season is set to begin. Orange Dance and Music Studio and JCI Hyderabad New Dimension jointly organised ‘Dandia Dhoom’ here on Sunday.

The evening saw people of all age groups in large numbers swaying to the traditional Garba and Dandia music. While the men were dressed up in the Gujarati dhoti kurta the ladies added glamour by dressing up in the traditional Ghagra and Choli.

“We have been organising this event for the past four years and this year we have over 1,500 people dancing here,” said Sashi Nahata, Director, Orange Dance and Music studio.

Competitions such as best dancing, best dressed male and female, best decorated dandia sticks and the senior most grandparent at the event were conducted .
