BANGALORE: A 32-year-old hotel owner was murdered near Inchara Hotel in J.P. Nagar 6th Phase on Saturday. The police said that the victim, Sudhir Kumar, was running a hotel “Fortune” in Puttenahalli. On Friday night, he had a heated exchange of words with Srinivasamurty, a private bank employee, over refusal to serve food. On Saturday night, Srinivasamurty and five of his friends assaulted Sudhir while he was returning home, the police said. His employees took Sudhir to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, where he died. The body was shifted to Victoria Hospital. The J.P. Nagar police have arrested Srinivasamurty and five of his accomplices. Woman killedA conductor of a Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus allegedly murdered his wife in Venkateshwara Nagar in Byatarayanapura police station limits on Saturday. According to the police, Shankarappa Benne, the accused, suspected the fidelity of his wife Neelavva. On Saturday night, he quarrelled with her and in a fit of rage, hit her with an empty domestic cylinder. Their neighbours took Neelavva to Victoria Hospital, where she died. The police arrested Shankarappa and produced him before a jurisdictional magistrate. ClashThere was tension in Basavanagar in K.G. Halli police station limits following a clash between two groups on Sunday. According to the police, a group of people complained against another about instances of “eve teasing” and sought action. In the afternoon, there was an altercation between the two groups and a clash ensued. Some threw stones when the police tried to intervene. Six persons were injured. Kills daughter, self A 24-year-old woman allegedly threw her two-year-old daughter into a well and then jumped into it in the Hulimavu Police Station limits on Sunday. The police gave the name of the dead as Yashoda, wife of Babu, and Neelambari. While Babu was a vendor, Yashoda was engaged in manual labour. The incident occurred near their residence at Elenahalli, the police said.
