MADURAI: The School Education Department plans to create individual e-mail IDs for all government school students in Madurai district.

Micro India, a Chennai-based private company, will take up the project, an initiative of the School Education Department, aimed at helping rural students enjoy the fruits of modern communication.

To start with, students of Standard VIII-Plus Two in government, Corporation, municipal and aided schools will get e-mail address.

“Students can succeed only if they have good communication skills. Our objective is to remove the technology fear from the minds of children studying in government set-up,” says K.A. Naresh Muthiah, Chief Executive Officer, Micro India.
