RECORD-BREAKER: Sachin Tendulkar, during the course of his patient half-century, added some more records against his name. Chandigarh: In a career of miles and milestones, there were more records for Sachin Tendulkar here on Monday. The maestro overtook Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record of 83 half centuries for the most number of 50s in ODI cricket. Tendulkar is now the highest ODI run-getter against Australia. Tendulkar has 2,321 runs in 51 games, overtaking Desmond Haynes’s 2,262 runs in 64 matches. Tendulkar also crossed 1000 ODI runs or more in a year for the seventh time, the most number of occasions by any batsman. It was also a day when Tendulkar sprained his knee while batting and did not come out to field. The team management said the injury was not serious. For the visitors, Matthew Hayden went past the 1500-run mark for the year. The Aussie left-hander has been in dominant form. Badrinath for GambhirMeanwhile, S. Badrinath has replaced the injured Gautam Gambhir for Thursday’s ODI in Vadodara. Gambhir, who strained his groin here during the nets, has been advised rest for at least two weeks. — Special Correspondent
